  In this role you will provide reliability engineering support to different R&D projects.  The company has a strong reliability culture and diverse career paths on the technical or leadership ladder.   Overall, we are seeking an engineer with excellent problem solving skills around optical communication devices who would like to work with different project teams.   You will have ample opportunity to excel and have an impact at this site.

Responsibilities岗位职责:

• Work with R&D, factories, and suppliers to ensure components, assemblies, and final products meet Finisar high standard of quality and reliability.

• Participate in architectural design reviews and engage with R&D on technical discussions regarding development of new products. Provide inputs and requirements to ensure new products are designed for reliability.

• Develop/review/approve qualification plans for new products, technologies, components, new vendors, and site transfers.

• Coordinate qualification programs, review test data, and generate lifetime models. Present reliability results to various engineering groups internally and customers externally.

• Interact with customers and SDE/suppliers to provide appropriate expertise on device and module reliability.

• Participate in technical discussions and ensure that reliability failures have solid failure analysis, root cause, and corrective actions to prevent such reoccurring failures.

Qualifications (Education, Experience, Personality, Software &English, Knowledge & Skills and Others)

• MS with minimum of 8 years working experience, or Ph.D with minimum of 3 years experience, in optical/electronic, materials, physics, chemistry  or semiconductor industry field.

• Technical knowledge of optical modules, PCBA and optical assemblies required.

• Knowledge of Telcordia and other reliability standards required. Reliability modeling and lifetime calculation preferred.

• Lab failure mode analysis experience a plus.

• Positive inter-personal skills necessary to support cross-functional teams.

• Strong technical (written and verbal) communication skills required for customer and internal communications.

• Willing to travel if needed.
