Job Description
Overview: Bosch Hybrid Cloud provides Bosch business units with best-fit services from private
and public clouds to deploy their innovative business models in mobility, industry, smart home
and other areas. Your work on the program Bosch Hybrid Cloud as Site Reliability Engineer /
DevOps Engineer involves development and operations of the Cloud Frameworks & Automation
Product portfolio.
– Develop and Operate services in scope of Cloud Frameworks & Automation
– Develop, enhance, and standardize development and operations processes through
automation code
– Enhance automation landscape, identify optimization potential, and reduce manual
efforts
– Envision, implement, and support cloud management solutions
– 3rd level support for in-house solutions
Qualifications
This role requires both depth and breadth in technologies used in modern PaaS platforms,
modern DevOps landscapes, and the development of cloud-native application architectures
(micro-services). Furthermore, a solid understanding of the components required to provide
high-availability application and networking environment is required. The role demands strong
work ethic, critical attention to detail, thoroughness, strong analytical, problem solving skills and
the following qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering or similar
specialization/technical discipline
– Knowledge in the field of Cloud Platform Development/ Operations, system engineering
or similar (For e.g. Cloud Foundry, Heroku, Openstack/Openshift, Public Cloud
Platforms – AWS, Azure etc.)
– Intermediate to expert level experience in programming and scripting languages – Java
(Spring Framework), Python, Go etc.
– Experience in buildup and management of software development environments (for e.g:
Jenkins, Concourse, GIT, Gradle, Artifactory etc.)
– Working knowledge in Infrastructure as Code, Orchestration tools (e.g. Terraform, Cloud
Formation, Ansible etc.)
– Knowledge of major IT Infrastructure Technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, Server
Virtualization – VMware, Openstack, Network Virtualization, IT Security etc.)
– Experience with modern security concepts (OAuth, micro segmentation etc.)
– Experience with Linux Operating Systems, middleware systems and networking
(TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, Firewall etc.)
– Working experience with monitoring/logging tools (e.g. Graphana, Elasticsearch, Splunk,
Prometheus etc.)
– Knowledge of foundational SRE practices with skills to apply them in various software
development phases (and as part of release engineering)
– Experience in the field of agile development and application operation in Cloud
environments (DevOps) is a must
– Excellent organizational skills, oral and written communication skills
– Ability to work with minimal supervision, making decisions based upon priorities and
schedule, team-, target oriented, ability to understand business initiatives and work
independently
– Highly flexible and willing to work under pressure (e.g. tight schedule)
– Good analytical and problem-solving skills, self-motivated and proactive approach
– Must be able to perform work in accordance with defined organization standards,
demonstrate knowledge and experience
