1Introduction
1.1Scope
Thisstandardestablishesatestmethodtodeterminetheforcesrequiredtoinsertcontactsintoandremovecontactsformtheirnormalpositioninaconnector.
2TestResources
2.1Equipment
Thetestequipmentshallconsistof:
2.1.1Applicableinsertionandremovaltools.
2.1.2Suitabledeviceforholdingthecomponent.
2.1.3Suitabledeviceformeasuringtheforces(forcegauges,loadcells,etc.).
3TestSpecimen
3.1Description
Thespecimenshallconsistofaconnectorandassociatedcontacts.
3.2Preparation
3.2.1Thesealingmembershallberelaxedorremovedifthedesignpermits.
3.2.2Allcontactsshallbewiredwithcabe/wireasspecifiedinthereferencingdocument.Allcontactsshallbeinstalled,exceptthosetobeusedforthetest.
