ThispaperanalyzesHALTandHASSdatafrom33differentcompaniesfromavarietyofindustriesandillustratesthe
followingconcepts:
1)HALTcanbeappliedtoawidevarietyofelectricalandelectro-mechanicalproducts.
2)Productstodayaremuchmorerobustthaninthepastand,therefore,thesemethodsarenecessarytoimprove
productreliability.
3)Randomvibrationismuchmoreeffectivethantemperaturecyclingforacceleratingdefects,andthecombined
environmentofrandomvibrationandtemperaturecyclingisevenmoreeffectivestill.
4)ThetypesoffailuresthatHALTandHASSdiscoverarethesametypesoffailuresthatarefoundinthefield.
