1.Scope
1.1Thispracticeprovidesauniformbasisofevaluating,inalaboratory,theabilityofshippingunitstowithstandthe
distributionenvironment.Thisisaccomplishedbysubjectingthemtoatestplanconsistingofasequenceofanticipated
hazardelementsencounteredinvariousdistributioncycles.
Thispracticeisnotintendedtosupplantmaterialspecificationsorexistingpreshipmenttestprocedures.
1.2Thesuitabilityofthispracticeforusewithhazardousmaterialshasnotbeendetermined.
1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itisthe
responsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicability
ofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Specificprecautionarystatementsaregivenin1.1.
